Tips
- For print, choose 512px or larger and set the margin to 2 or more to improve scan recognition.
- Enter the full URL including https:// so it opens right after scanning. Without the scheme, some apps read it as plain text.
- The longer the content in a QR code, the more complex the pattern and the harder it is to read. Shorten long URLs with a URL shortener.
- This tool uses medium (M) error correction, so it stays readable with up to about 15% damage. Note that overlaying a logo lowers the recognition rate.
- The margin (quiet zone) around the QR code is space needed for recognition. Setting the margin to 0 can make it blend into the background and fail to scan.
- Place it against a clearly contrasting background and do not print it too small. On a business card, at least 2cm per side is recommended.
FAQ
Is what I enter sent to a server?
No. The QR code is generated with JavaScript in your browser, and your input is never sent anywhere.
Do QR codes expire?
No. A generated QR code is just an image, and it works permanently as long as the URL or text it holds stays valid. It does not rely on a separate server.
Can I make a QR code from Korean text?
Yes. All Unicode text, including Korean, is encoded into the QR code. If the scanning app supports UTF-8, it displays the text as is.
Can I use a transparent background or change colors?
The current version produces a standard PNG with a black pattern on a white background. If you need a color change, edit the image with an image tool after downloading.
Why is no QR code generated?
It will not generate if the input is empty or the text is long enough to exceed the QR capacity limit. Shorten the content and try again.
Can I later point a generated QR code to a different address?
No. A QR code is a static image with the content fixed into the pattern at the time it was made. If you need to change the address, embed a redirecting short URL in the QR code instead.
Can I set the margin to 0?
It is not recommended. The margin around a QR code is the space a scanner uses to recognize the code boundary, so without it recognition can fail.
What is the error correction level?
It refers to how much of a damaged code can be restored. This tool uses the medium (M) level, which restores up to about 15% and offers a good balance of capacity and robustness.
